MADISON, WI – Michael Haas, interim administrator of the Wisconsin Elections Commission, has been nominated to serve as secretary of the National Association of State Election Directors (NASED) for the 2018-19 term, putting him in line to be the president-elect in 2021 and the president in 2022. He will be included on the slate of officers recommended for formal election at the organization’s Winter Meeting in Washington, D.C. in February.

MADISON, WI – The deadline is approaching for candidates running for office in the 2018 Spring Election to file their paperwork. Nothing in that report has caused us to question our support of Interim Administrator Michael Haas. We remain unanimously in support of his current position, and continue to seek his appointment as permanent administrator. We recognize and support his authority as to supervision of the WEC staff.

MADISON, WI – Twelve candidates will face off in primaries for three legislative seats on December 19 to see who will face off in special elections on January 16. Governor Walker ordered special elections to fill vacant seats in State Senate District 10 and Assembly Districts 58 and 66. The deadline for candidates to file nomination papers was Tuesday, November 21. There were no challenges filed to any of the candidates’ nomination papers.

Madison, WI – Anticipating a high level of state and national media interest in covering Wisconsin’s Electoral College vote on Monday, December 19, the Wisconsin Elections Commission is issuing this advisory.
