Voter Records Reactivated on August 12, 2022

As part of ongoing litigation in the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, the WEC is reactivating select voter records previously deactivated on July 31, 2021. These were voters identified in the 2019 Active Movers cohort who had not submitted a new voter registration, affirmed their address, or voted in an election between October 2019 and July 2021.  Some of these voter records have pending registration list alerts that require clerk action.

Clerks should review and process registration list alerts associated with the impacted voter records in a timely manner. Additional updates to voter status are ultimately at the discretion of the clerk. Any associated Indefinitely Confined absentee applications will be reactivated as necessary. Clerks who should take additional action will be contacted directly by WEC staff.

The clerk communication associated with the deactivations from July 2021 is located here.

Please contact the WEC Help Desk if you have any questions or require assistance with the statewide voter registration system.
