1. PURPOSE. This important memo is to alert you to a high priority Windows 10 update that Microsoft released today.
2. WHAT TO DO. Immediately update any computer running Windows 10. To update your Windows 10 computer, click the Windows icon in the bottom left of your screen, type “update,” click “Settings,” click “Update and Security,” then select “check for updates.” Once the update is installed, restart your computer. If your computers are managed by an IT department, check with them to determine the update process.
The Wisconsin Elections Commission recommends that users configure automatic updates, restart computers daily, and shut computers down when not in use. Microsoft regularly sends out updates, but most updates don’t complete until you restart your computer.
