This course is required of new Municipal Clerks before they can serve as an election official. Once they have taken the 3-hour course, they are certified for the 2024-2025 term. They will need to obtain another three hours of approved election training - for a total of six hours - before December 31, 2025 to recertify for the 2026-2027 term. All Municipal Clerks are required to take and report to the Wisconsin Elections Commission six hours of election training every 2-year term to maintain their certification.
Core training is for:
-
New municipal clerks
-
Municipal clerks who lost their certification
-
Certified municipal clerks (once per 2-year term)
Core training can be completed online in the Learning Center or in person. See the In-Person Training Schedule to view upcoming opportunities for in-person trainings being offered.
