Today, the United States Supreme Court, in Wisconsin Legislature, et al. v. Wisconsin Elections Commission, et al, reversed the Wisconsin Supreme Court’s March 3rd decision in Johnson v. Wisconsin Elections Commission that selected Governor Evers’ state assembly and senate maps (see attached). It is the WEC’s understanding that no maps for the state assembly and senate are in effect for the 2022 fall elections until further action is taken by the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
WEC staff will provide more information as it is available. Please consult with your local counsel on additional next steps, particularly if your county or municipality was identified as containing wards split by districts from the previously selected maps.
