NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to an executive order by the Governor of the State of Wisconsin, dated May 14, 2024, that on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, a Special Election will be held in the several wards and election districts of the Fourth State Senate District in the State of Wisconsin, consisting of those parts of Milwaukee County, as described in Chapter 4 of the Wisconsin Statutes, at which the following officer is to be elected:
A STATE SENATOR FOR THE FORTH DISTRICT to fill the vacancy, caused by the resignation of Lena Taylor, for the remainder of the term which expires on January 6, 2025.
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that the earliest date for circulating nomination papers is Tuesday, May 14, 2024, and the deadline for filing nomination papers and declarations of candidacy for the Special Election will be 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in the office of the Wisconsin Elections Commission, 201 West Washington Avenue, Second Floor, Madison, Wisconsin. The Special Primary, if necessary, will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. A description of the boundaries of the 4th State Senate District is set out in Wisconsin Statutes Section 4.009(4). A redistricting has occurred since the most recent election for this office, however, the territory concerning this district was not changed, and remains identical to the territory during the most recent election.
