Additional Security Needs Survey

The Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) is seeking feedback from local government officials on how to use the remaining Elections Security HAVA funds ahead of the 2020 elections.  The WEC announced a subgrant program on September 27, 2019 to help local jurisdictions meet baseline security standards before the Spring Primary.  The baseline standards include having computer hardware and/or software that meets minimum security recommendations, access to professional IT support, participation in Election Security training, and the adoption of a contingency plan.  Beyond baseline standards, the WEC encourages jurisdictions to invest in additional security measures.  The Wisconsin Elections Commission has asked staff to survey municipal and county clerks on their self-reported security needs beyond the baseline standards.  Currently, there is no guarantee of additional funds, but the Commission wants to understand the security needs in Wisconsin election jurisdictions for consideration if funds are available in the future.

Please use the SurveyMonkey link below to submit your feedback on which security measures your jurisdiction is interested in implementing.  Surveys must be submitted no later than November 8, 2019.  WEC staff will review your feedback and present it to the Commission at the December 2, 2019 meeting.
