NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING: Tuesday, January 7, 2020
The members of the Presidential Preference Selection Committee will meet on January 7, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. in the Governor’s Conference Room (115 East) in the State Capitol. The purpose of the meeting is for the two major parties to select candidates whose names will appear on the ballot at the Presidential Preference Vote April 7, 2020. The selected candidates will be those whose candidacy for President of the United States is generally advocated or recognized in the national news media.

NOTE: The lists of potential candidates and candidates who have registered with the Federal Elections Commission are not binding on the Selection Committee. The committee’s responsibility is to place on the ballot the names of all candidates whose candidacy “is generally advocated or recognized in the national news media throughout the United States.” Also, the committee may, “place the names of other candidates on the ballot. The committee shall have sole discretion to determine that a candidacy is generally advocated or recognized in the national news media throughout the United States.” Wis. Stat. § 8.12(1)(b)
