We are disappointed to announce that Elections Specialist Bill Wirkus has left the Wisconsin Elections Commission for an opportunity to resume practicing law in the private sector near his home in the Waukesha area. Bill has been an integral part of the election administration team since joining the agency in December of 2017 and has lead the agency’s military and overseas voting program. During his tenure, Bill has answered an abundance of questions from candidates, voters, and clerks and assisted with agency training efforts surrounding a wide variety of election administration topics. His steady presence, attention to detail and legal research skills will be sorely missed.
We appreciate his dedicated service to voters, candidates and clerks in support of Wisconsin elections and wish him the best in the next phase of his career. Bill’s last day in the office was April 17 and we will work to fill his position as soon as possible. In the meantime, if you have questions or concerns related to election administration after his departure, please contact the Elections Commission HelpDesk at elections@.wi.gov or at (608) 261-2028.
