As you are aware, a proposed amendment to the Wisconsin Constitution (The Victims’ Bill of Rights, also known as “Marsy’s Law”) has passed through both houses of the Legislature once and was up for second consideration in this legislative session. Passage under second consideration is required before a constitutional amendment may be placed before the voters for ratification. The deadline for passage in order for the amendment to appear on the Spring Election ballot was January 22, 2019. Though the Assembly and Senate were in session on that day, the proposed constitutional amendment was not on the agenda of either house.
Therefore, there will be no Constitutional Amendment on the April 2, 2019 ballot.
