The candidate filing deadline for the 2019 Spring Election was today, January 2, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. Only two candidates filed ballot access paperwork for the only statewide office up for election this Spring, Justice of the State of Wisconsin Supreme Court, meaning there will be no statewide Spring Primary on February 19, 2019. Counties and municipalities may still be conducting primaries on that day if enough candidates for county and local-level offices qualify for ballot access.
The filing deadline for Ozaukee County Circuit Court Judge, Branch 2 has been extended until Monday January 7, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. The 72-hour extension was triggered by the incumbent filing neither a Notification of Noncandidacy nor nomination papers by today’s filing deadline.
A complete list of candidate filings can be found posted on the agency webpage here: https://elections.wi.gov/elections-voting/2019/spring. Please note that all candidates for state-level office have until January 7, 2019 to file their Statement of Economic Interests with the Wisconsin Ethics Commission. The Commission will certify candidates for the Spring Election at its meeting on January 11, 2019.
