I am very pleased to announce that I have appointed Richard Rydecki as the Assistant Administrator of the Wisconsin Elections Commission, effective immediately. The position of Assistant Administrator was created by the Legislature as part of the legislation creating the Elections Commission.

In the role of Assistant Administrator, Richard will continue his previous duties and responsibilities supervising the Election Administration Team. In addition, Richard will assist me with the overall management and leadership of the WEC staff.

Richard started working for the Government Accountability Board in 2011 as an elections specialist, and has lead our accessibility initiatives as well as our voting equipment testing and auditing programs, among other responsibilities. He was promoted to elections supervisor in August 2017.

Richard received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and a master’s degree from The George Washington University.

I know that Richard will do an excellent job in the position of Assistant Administrator, and in that role will continue his focus on helping voters and local election officials.
