Elections Division Unveils ‘Voter Public Access’

Madison, WI – Wisconsin voters can look up their polling place and other election-related information on the Internet using a new function of the state’s voter registration system. It’s now available under “Elections and Voting” on the Elections Division page at, the Government Accountability Board’s web site.

Voter Public Access gives the public a new means of getting information about voter registration, voting history, normal polling place locations, current office holders, and sample ballots for upcoming elections.

“This is a convenient tool for voters who want to double-check information about themselves, where they vote, or who they can vote for, before Election Day,” said Nat Robinson, state Elections Division Administrator. “We hope it makes voting easier.”

The information provided on Voter Public Access pages comes directly from the Statewide Voter Registration System and is maintained by local clerks. Voters who find any out-of-date information should report it to their local municipal clerk.

“You can search your own information using your name and birth date,” Robinson said. “Or you can search by address to find the polling location for that particular address.”

In rare cases, a voter may vote on a provisional ballot, and the Voter Public Access page will also allow that voter to check the status of her/his provisional ballot.

Instructions for using Voter Public Access are provided on the site. Voters who do not find registration information about themselves in Voter Public Access should contact their municipal clerk to make sure they are properly registered to vote.
