In an effort to make Wisconsin’s ballots more “user friendly,” G.A.B. staff has revised the format of the ballots for the Spring Primary and Spring Election. The basic layout is the same, but instructional language has been simplified and some formatting has been changed to improve readability. Ballot improvement is an on-going process, so feedback is welcomed. Please be sure your printer understands that optical scan ballots must be printed using the new format. We encourage paper ballot users to use the newly-formatted paper ballot, but it is not mandatory for the spring primary and spring election.
Sample paper and optical scan ballots for the Spring Primary and Spring Election can be found on the G.A.B. website. http://gab.wi.gov/forms/ballots. The primary ballot series is GAB-208 and the election series is GAB-209. The samples should be modified so that any office not requiring a primary is eliminated from the primary ballot (GAB-208). Any office not up for election should be eliminated from the body of the election ballot (GAB-209). Each sample OS ballot is available in both “arrow” and “oval” format.
Placement of the Office of Multi-jurisdictional Municipal Judge: For optical scan or consolidated ballots, placement and format of the office of municipal judge serving more than one municipality (also called multi-jurisdictional municipal judge) can be found on:
Primary Ballots: GAB-208mv-Oval and GAB-208mc-Arrow
Election Ballots: GAB-209mv-Arrow and GAB-209mtn-Oval
