Submitting Nomination Papers for the 37th Assembly District Special Election on July 13, 2021

Nomination papers must be completed and submitted to the Wisconsin Elections Commission by May 18, 2021 at 5pm for the 37th Assembly District Special Election.

Nomination papers may be submitted to the Commission:

By U.S. Mail or Delivery

Candidates may submit original nomination papers via U.S. Mail or a package delivery company. Please include an email address so a confirmation can be sent upon receipt of the document.

  • U.S. Mail: Wisconsin Elections Commission, P.O. Box 7984, Madison, WI 53707-7984
  • Delivery: Wisconsin Elections Commission, 212 E. Washington Ave., 3rd Floor, Madison, WI 53703.

In Person

Candidates or their representatives may submit original nomination papers in-person to the Wisconsin Elections Commission Office. The office is open 8am-4:30pm weekdays. Access to the building is restricted, so please call (608)228-7075 or (608)228-7076 to have a Commission staff member let you in downstairs.

Some things to consider:

  • Nomination papers should be well organized (facing the same direction, etc.).
  • Nomination papers should be numbered.
  • Signatures over the maximum number allowable should be separated and marked as “supplemental.”
  • Candidates (or their representative) should attend their appointment alone to minimize visitors in the office.

Please let us know if you have any questions.
